So what's the difference between our
Shelf-life Boilies and Freezer Boilies?
One is dried for 24 hours, bagged and put in the freezer
The other is dried for three days , bagged and put on the shelf.
Yes, our Shelf-life boilies do have a minute amount of human food grade preservative in them also but the base recipe for both baits is exactly the same
So why all the hype about freezer baits Vs. Shelf-life?
We charge the same price for our Freezer range as we do for our Shelf-life but some don't and so of course the price of freezer bait is pushed up!Exploding the myths
When you have anglers such as the great Rod Hutchinson and of the caliber of Terry Herne, Frank Warwick, Martin Locke etc all using Shelf-life then you know they work!So Why Hydrate?
There is no doubt that carp know the difference between a 'washed out' bait and a freshly baited one. It's been an edge in many top anglers armory for decades now That's why freezer baits sometimes seem to work better! they appear washed out much quickerTo get a Shelf-life boilie like a freezer bait just hydrate them for 6 hours or so in water
To boost your bait use Carpagra glug mixed with the water
To get that 'washed out' finish just hydrate for anything up to 24 hours plus
We guarantee it will put more fish on the bank
Obviously good angling, location and water craft play there part but once you have that bait in the right place it makes sense to ensure it gives you the best chance of a pickupTips & Tricks
Bait is important! and using good quality bait at its best is a sure way of increasing your chances of putting the net under a prize specimenFreezer baits will only keep for a day in the summer before they start to go off
Air Drying
For longer sessions you may find the need to air dry your baits in a net drying bag but then you will basically just end up with a shelf-life bait? However, gluging and hydrating can prolong the freshness of any bait whilst keeping it in tip-top condition and ready for immediate use
For freezer baits you will need to air dry them and re-hydrate them in a sequence that provides enough bait for your needs during your session
For shelf-life baits you just need to hydrate as and when needed to provide enough bait
Straight from the bag
Freezer baits need far less hydrating than shelf-life because of course they contain far more moisture. For freezer baits it is best to start the hydrating as soon as they come out of the freezer. This is because as the bait thaws out it will absorbed the water at a much faster rate than if you waited until they thawed
